Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.

Summary:

Collaborates with the research group in gynecologic oncology and responsible for supporting and overseeing a number of research projects across multiple institutions and hospitals under the direction of the Principal Investigators Dr.Chuang (Network Chair OB-GYN), and Dr. Martignetti. The Clinical Research Coordinator assists in overseeing project assignments, ensuring pre-established work and time deadlines,
 preparation of standard operating protocols (SOPs), and adherence to, renewing, and modifications of IRB study protocols.

Responsibilities:

1. Manages and coordinates clinical trials and translational research in the Department of Research and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

2. Screens patients for study participation e.g. reviews medical record collaborates with medical & research staff, etc. and procures informed consent.
3. Manages informed consent documents as per guidelines and site SOPs.
4. Creates and submits all study protocols, consent forms, and other required documents to the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
5. Coordinates scheduled patient visits with Biobank team members.
6. Manages subject laboratory specimens and information as per protocol.
7. Responsible for quarterly report forms including patient tracking information as relevant to ongoing research projects.
8. Responsible for managing all studies, data collection points, and collecting data from team members.
9. Facilitates bi-weekly meetings with outcome/action reports generated from these meetings.
10. Creates reports for PI, including reports on recruitment, enrollment, retention, and adverse events.
11. Organizes Annual Minimally Invasive Surgery Symposium for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
12. Maintains communication with investigators/researchers, patients, internal and external collaborators (e.g.Consulting physicians), sponsors, federal regulatory agencies, and other involved parties as required.
13. Flexibility in daily routine and effectively accommodates for the needs of the job.
14. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information:

This position requires a minimum formal education of a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years of job-related experience.
 Required Skills: Two years of clinical research experience. Knowledge of clinical trials, research, and general medicine. Strong computer skills: MS Excel, Access and Word, Web-based data entry, and accountability systems. Working knowledge of PowerPoint.

Desired: Certified Clinical Research Coordinator through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
