External Description:

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices.  Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.


Summary:
The Clincial Research Associate coordinates and implements research activities and administrative strategies essential to the successful management of research projects.

 


Responsibilities:
1. Develops and leads new clinical and health outcome studies. Develop research protocols and ensure ongoing compliance with the hospital compliance and institutional review board policies (IRB) on all original research studies. Develop budgets to support
2. In preparation of studies, obtains completed necessary forms and other documents required by the IRB, (Institutional Review Board).

3. Provides direction to the data analyst on program reports for existing grant programs that are submitted to public and private funding agencies and reviews these reports for accuracy.

4. Identify new grant opportunities and write grant proposals for new research funding.

5. Educate new staff, interns, volunteers on research protocols and provides training for staff involved in studies. This includes providing direction on projects assigned and managing daily activites.

6. Demonstrates understandng of all active and pending research protocols.

7. Effectively works with all study teams to monitor progress with study implementation, data collection and data management.

8. Prepares accurate reports and graphic representations of findings. Assists with the development of research project summaries.

9. Coordinates and implements evaluations for the Research Methods Seminar and other scholarly activities offered by the department.

10. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.
