Summary:

The Pharmacy340B supervisor is responsible for the day to day management, compliance review, and operations of the 340B program. Areas of responsibility include clinic administered medications in eligible locations, mixed use areas managed by split billing software, outpatient prescriptions fulfilled by an owned pharmacy, and outpatient prescriptions fulfilled by a contract 340B pharmacy. This position is the primary internal liaison to key stakeholders (i.e., finance and revenue cycle representatives) to help enable appropriate and optimal usage of our 340B program, including management of our 340B contract pharmacy relationships. The Pharmacy340B supervisor will evaluate the required compliance documentation for all aspects of the program as well as the revenue and expense reports produced for the contract pharmacies.
The Pharmacy340B supervisor will supervise the staff responsible for purchasing, receiving and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

The Pharmacy340B supervisor reports to the Manager/Director of Pharmacy Services and will have responsibilities including:

● Manage/supervise staff that are placing medication orders, purchasing medications, inventory management of medications.

●Ensure staff is meeting daily department goals

● Manage the 340B pharmacy benefit program to eligible out-patients and qualified providers/physicians

● Manage relationships, billing services, and compliance with contracted 340B pharmacies

● Manage education, training, awareness, and customer service for all 340B covered entities

● Ensure that the 340B pharmacy program is continually compliant with 340B federal regulations

● Track, monitor, and report 340B pharmaceutical sales and purchases data to insure provider/physician and patient eligibility (self audit and continuous surveillance). Works with corporate compliance for independent audits in preparation for HRSA audit.

● Develops, implements, and maintains 340B policy and procedure requirements, auditing and insures full compliance and best practice across the organization

● Manage staff, including hiring, staffing, trainings, evaluating performance and competency, and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions as needed

● Oversee the 340B Contract Pharmacy marketing program to attract and retain qualified retail pharmacy contracts and eligible patients

●Manages third party administrator software and interfaces with Nuvance health

Other information:

This position requires an individual with strong analytical skills, including oral and written comprehension and expression to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems and design relatively complex systems and programs.

● Bachelor's degree
• 4-5 years job related experience in the healthcare industry
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience
● Experience with 340B program management and pharmacy contracting preferred
● Registering as a Connecticut Pharmacy Technician is required within 60 days of hire
● Retail and/or Hospital Pharmacy with drug wholesaler applications experience preferred
● Experience and skill with spreadsheets and other accounting applications (Excel, Lotus, Access, PowerPoint)
● Ability to work cooperatively with Hospital and Pharmacy staff, in order to meet departmental objectives.
● Ability to multitask, and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
● Billing and supervisory experience preferred

On the job training will be provided for 340B compliance, guidelines, and policies.
