External Description:

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site reading physician. - Maintains patient care and comfort during the exam. - Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs. - Under guidance and approval of site Radiologist, administers contrast agents and/or radiopharmaceuticals according to site-specific protocols. - Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and reviews/explains the procedure to the patient. - Provides images to the facility in the desired site format. - Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems; places service calls and notifies all pertinent team members of issues. - Assists with the set up and tear down of equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ guidelines. - Maintains a clean environment. - Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality. - Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures. - Complies with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety. - Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed. - Performs additional duties as required. - Operating knowledge of personal computers and medical charting systems. - Produces computerized tomographic radiographs of designated anatomic areas as directed, to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, according to established practices and procedures. - Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care to the age of the patient served by the Department of Imaging.
