Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.


Summary:
Clinical Engineering Coordinator supports the goals of WCHN by coordinating the schedule to ensure that there is coverage by team members to provide repair service and maintenance on all medical equipment that is used to provide patient care. Responsible for maintaining the Biomed Inventory of parts and supplies. Coordinates large-scale Biomed-related projects Oversees the data entry accuracy and maintenance of the Biomedical Equipment Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

 

Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates the schedule to ensure there is coverage by team members as it relates to maintenance, calibration, and repair service on biomedical equipment, utilizing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills to ensure consistent and effective operating conditions.
2. Responsible for maintaining the Biomed Inventory of parts and supplies.
3. Responsible for maintaining the Biomed and Facilities Test/Simulator/Calibration Equipment calibrated and certified.
4. Coordinates large-scale Biomed-related projects, by ensuring the schedule provides the staff coverage needed by team members; Attends meetings.
5. Oversees the data entry accuracy and maintenance of the Biomedical Equipment Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
6. Completes assignments and documentation in compliance with JCAHO and Government Regulations, as well as, the continuity of operations to our customers.
7. Participates in the selection, evaluation, and risk assessment of specialized or highly technical clinical equipment in a specialized area of acquired expertise to be used at the hospital, system affiliates, and medical practices, which are supported by the clinical engineering group.
8. Interacts with the Facilities equipment Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Administrator to maintain a central repository of Biomedical equipment records.
9. Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment.
10. Provides assistance and cross-training to the other Clinical Engineering Technicians in performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment.
11. Provides assistance, troubleshooting, and cross-training to the other Clinical Engineering Technicians with the Biomedical Equipment Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
12. Develops professional skills, attends continuing education sessions, and attains personal qualification standards to ensure the technical competency and teamwork required to provide quality service.
13. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other information:
Required: Manufacturer service and maintenance training on technical clinical or biomedical equipment. Experience in electronics or biomedical equipment usage, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair. Good coordination and organizational skills. Knowledge of Hospital policies and procedures. Required 5 or more years of experience working with IBM Maximo CMMS. Strong reporting & presentation application skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Strong communication skills with the ability to listen, learn, educate & influence in a multi-disciplined production environment.
Minimum Experience: five years
Desired: Bio-Medical Equipment Tech (BMET) Certification.
