External Description:

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.


Summary:
Utilizes radiopharmaceuticals and related instruments to measure the concentration in various organ systems for the diagnosis and treatment of specific pathological disorders.

 


Responsibilities:
1. Performs and teaches nuclear medicine procedures.
2. Ensures proper interpersonal relations between physicians, co-workers and patients & monitoring of patients during tests.

3. Performs radiopharmaceutical ordering receipt surveying preparation. Dispersal and disposition.

4. Responsible for quality control and operation of nuclear medicine instruments during scheduled & on call hours.

5. Adheres to ALARA and radiation safety rules & regulations.

6. Responsible for scheduling, record keeping, proper phone etiquette, and retrieval & archival of procedure records.

7. Achieves the organization's established expectations regarding quality service, team work and staff development.

8. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Shift: The technologist will be working weekdays 8 am- 4:30 pm as needed and have on-call responsibilities.
