Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.


Summary:
Oversees the daily operation of the MRI department. Assumes responsibility of the area in the absence of the manager. Performs the functions of a MRI Technologist and Lead Technician for the building.

 

Responsibilities:
1. Assists the manager in the daily operation of the Radiology Department.
2. Administers to the department and patient needs in the absence of the manager. Provides mentoring and guidance to staff.

3. Performs the functions of a MRI Technologist and lead technician for the building.

4. Provides training and cross training of staff.

5. Prepares schedules, orders supplies and implements changes.

6. Participates in the department's performance improvement program and initiatives.

7. May provide recommendations to performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary action.

8. Builds positive customer relationships with physicians and healthcare services.

9. Ensures a safe environment for all staff and patients.

10. May provide clinical instruction to prospective radiographers to instill the duties of a radiologic technologist in a health care facility while maintaining excellent patient care.

11. May evaluate a students' ability to perform procedures, and assures student attains objectives of each competency. May perform periodic written evaluation of students.

12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other information:
Required: State of CT Radiographer license. Maintains current knowledge of professional discipline & educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
