Summary

Performs all duties associated with billing and assisting with the collection of accounts receivables. Reports directly to the Billing Manager

Responsibilities:

• Reviews and enters patient registrations as submitted. Ensures proper pay status, verifies eligibility as appropriate, ID numbers, social security numbers, diagnosis numbers, and physicians are entered in computer to generate proper billing. Understands impact the client condition has on payor source, ie. Medicare, no fault insurance, etc. Investigates auto accidents and call client attorneys and ensures payment.
•  Cover for intake.
•  Review and prepare client billing, per guidelines established by payor. Prepares bills, copies all forms to be sent with bills. Follows-up with billing adjustments; regarding bills, billing co-pay to individual patients, etc. Checks paid bills against files to determine collection action.
• Processes phone calls from clients and/or client representatives and supply billing and payment information requested.
•  Performs collection activities for all payors.

Required:

• Completion of business course of studies and graduation from high school. Knowledge of and experience in basic bookkeeping principles. Accurate typing skills. Basic knowledge and understanding of computerization and other office machines. Integrity and maturity to handle confidentiality. Previous billing experience required.
• Minimum Experience: three years

• 40 hrs/wk: Mon-Fri; 2 weekends/mo (min. 4 hrs each day) and some holidays
