Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations.  

Summary: Assumes responsibility and accountability for functioning as the scrub nurse in assisting with the nursing care activities and surgical services provided to a specific group of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Hospital Administration. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patient served on the nursing unit or by patient care department.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the surgical suite meticulously.
• Master proper counts, ensuring policy adherence.
• Create a safe surgical haven with sterile packaging.
• Use materials safely and efficiently, prioritizing patient well-being.
• Demonstrate surgical technologist expertise.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Certified Surgical Technician from an accredited institution
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification before orientation

 

Location: Sharon Hospital
Work Type: Full-Time (36 hrs/week) 
Work Schedule: Day Shift, M-F shifts, occasional on-call
Salary Range: $25 - $46/hr. (based on experience)
