Summary:
The Mental Health Worker provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or physician. The Mental Health Worker assists patients with activities of daily living, provides personal care, and emotional support, and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of an RN. The Mental Health Worker performs patient considering needs specific to the standard of care for the age of the patient.
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychosocial and physical care which may include personal hygiene care, cleaning overbed and bedside table table
- Answer call lights, anticipate patient needs and make rounds
- Run sensory, recreation, activity and or cognitive stimulation groups
- Observe mental and physical conditions and report changes to supervising RN
Requirements:
- HS diploma or equivalent
- BLS Certification within 90 days of hire
- CPI Certification within 30 days of hire
- 1-year prior experience in a psychiatric setting (preferred)
- Past experience as a nurse’s aide (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $16.00 - $31.00 per hour
