Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.

Summary:
Responsible for improving department efficiency and throughput of surgical instrument reprocessing. Will increase customer satisfaction and increase patient safety. Dedicated to managing the Abacus tracking system.

 

Responsibilities:
1. Manages instrument inventory - barcoding sets and set locations.
2. Makes changes to current sets/count sheets and builds new sets as needed.
3. Coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs.
4. Orders new instruments.
5. Sterilization QA and biological documentaton.
6. Loaner instruments - tracking and QA.
7. Monthly reports - volumes, staff productivity
8. Staff education.
9. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other information:
Required: Surgical Tech certification. OR experience.
Minimum Experience: three years

Desired: Abacus or instrument tracking system experience.
